Annual Report

The Tipi of Hope Foundation aims to provide a path for Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities to create a joint vision of reconciliation. Since our inception in 2022, we have made an impact. To learn more or to get involved, see our Annual Report.

Our Values

We are committed to our guiding principles – with everything we do. These principles are:

Community & Relationships

Poles of the Tipi of Hope Foundation

Similar to a tipi, the poles of the Foundation represent our current strategic priorities:

  • Indigenous cultures are based on using spoken stories, which are passed down from generation to generation.
  • Ensure all Canadians learn Indigenous values, cultures, ceremonies and beliefs through Indigenous Storytelling.
  • Long-term roadmap for our approach to advancing meaningful reconciliation.
  • Reconciliation is the process of healing relationships and will require truth sharing, apology and acknowledgment of the past.
  • Creation of a Culture of Belonging – we are all connected. We embrace Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing in our programming and work.

As everything in the universe is part of a whole; everything is connected in some way.

  • Our Education for Hope Program is culturally appropriate and reflective of Indigenous histories, cultures, and languages.
  • Develop additional Educational Programs for new Canadians, Schools, and Workplaces.
  • We have developed an Information Kit for newcomers to Canada to align with the recommendation from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. This Kit would be available to all Canadians or newcomers who want to learn more!
Future Focused

Future programming will be focused on sharing stories from everyone.

We look forward to collaborating with corporations and businesses to continue to support schools, universities, governments, organizations, the public, and partners in our collective efforts to commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We will address issues of colonization and achieve reconciliation by hearing and listening to stories from all perspectives.

We are committed to our guiding principles – with everything we do. These principles are:
  • Annual Audited Financial Statements starting in 2024, to ensure you know where donations are going.
    • Non-Audited Financial Overview is in our in our Annual Report for 2023.
    • Though, we are 100% volunteer run today.
  • Describing how our programs and services help to realize our mission and vision.
  • Providing a clear governance structure, including Board of Directors Biographies.
  • Acknowledging openly our achievements, opportunities, and challenges.
  • A published Strategic Plan that will list our actions to achieve our goals.
